York == Bamberg of Britain?

Perhaps a better comparison? Absolutely beautiful little city with great beer. I've not been to enough of the grand cathedral towns and cities in England to really make a fair comparison though, such as Lincoln, Canterbury, or the one out towards Bath (Salisbury?). Would like to visit Bamburgh someday. (Pronounced "bämbruh"?) I just dreamt of Manc last night, in fact, now that you mention it. I was there, as usual, for a beery getaway. But of course it wasn't *really* Manchester, it was all wrong and backwards. And so I was all mixed up on where to go to drink and eat. And then I woke up before I could even get started!
