"Lambic" at Schanzenbraeu, Nuremberg |

Two alleged "Lambic" beers, St-Louis and Jacobins, are only sort-of "lambics" - they aren't even produced in the Pajottenland or Senne Valley region, but in West Flanders. That said, Cuvée des Jacobins is pretty good, and so is St-Louis Gueuze Fond Tradition, but neither are a patch on more authentic products, like the 3 Fonteinen Oude Kriek that has been served (is it still?) at Café Abseits in Bamberg. The more commercially-minded St-Louis products seem to be aimed at children's palates, for all the sweetness they contain. |
