Had a trial glass (half pint) straight from the brew vessel last night - very nice, getting less sweet, a real dark ale. FG hasn't dropped much in the last week, maybe now just below 1010 (1009.5?), so do you think it is safe to bottle? Coopers recommend the use of their carbonation drops as primimg sugar. As anyone had any experience with these? They are a combination of sugar and glucose and are said to give a more accurate measurement than just tipping in sugar with a spoon. Also said to dissolve more easily. Have more or less decided to try one of Brupaks 'Yorkshire' brews (goes slightly against the grain - ha, ha - being a Lancastrian), as they seem to mark a nice half way stage between malt extract and grains (you add the hops separately). |
