| Wow. Thanks for the response. I've been lurking on the board for a while and have enjoyed reading all of your posts. I hope to contribute more in the future myself. I like to hike and want to do a lot of walking between Brauerei if the weather cooperates. Zur Sonne sounds like a nice outing. Hallstadt(Goldene Lowen)/Dorfleins(Eichorn)/Kemmern (Wagner), Memmelsdorf/Merkendorf/Drosendorf, Geisfeld/Rossdorf am Forst. I was also thinking about traveling down to Barnikal in Herrnsdorf, then working my way back to Hirschaid (Kraus) maybe hitting Mueller or Weber along the way. Possibly heading down to the Kruezberg area to visit Friedel, Roppelt, Lieberth, Rittmayer working my way to Schwarzes Kreuz in Eggolsheim. Göller Zeil am Main. Obviously I can't do them all in a week, or can I :). Jürgen, thanks for your list. I liked reading your opinionated reviews preparing for my trip and was intrigued when you mentioned having a top 10. I have my work cut out for me in the years ahead since I only even recognized 5 of the 15 or so names you mentioned. Nick, I need to have your discipline in learning German. My German comprehension has gotten much better, but I still struggle to express myself in German because I don't do what you do. I also like the site http://www.bierwandern.de you recommended a while back. Barry, thanks for your reply and your detailed posts. You should also update the brewery review section like Jürgen and Nick to make it easier for people like me :). Thanks also TreinJan, DonS and I hope I didn't forget anyone. Jimbo, I'd love to get together for a beer or two or three. I get into Bamberg Saturday evening, Nov 20th around 7:00. I'm staying at Faessla for the week. How do we get in touch? I'd also like to get together with anyone else who is up for it while I'm in Bamberg. I'm more than willing to travel. I just need to be able to get to a train station after an evening out so I can get back to Bamberg. --Bill |
