| I fully agree--NUE is also extremely convenient: small, easy to get through security, and the U-Bahn (10 minutes to Hauptbahnhof) runs nearly continuously. From the UK though, there's just the one direct flight from Stanstead, which is apparently not the most desirable point of departure. We've flown from NUE to England several times now via FRA, Hamburg, Zurich, and Amsterdam. All have gone quite smoothly, except for one time when I booked a connexion through AMS with 45 minutes' layover, which wasn't enough. D'oh! And again, the TagesTicketPlus for 2 people from NUE to Bamberg is 14.50 €, which is then good for travel throughout the VGN region for the whole day. (2 trains per hour) Airfare to NUE is probably twice as expensive as by Ryanair though. |
