| This is a very Bamberg-centric forum, and probably always will be, because that's where tourists start from. Not everyone lives here nor will they drive around to every corner of the country to try every one of Franken's 280 breweries. I won't *drive* around to explore the breweries, and just haven't cared enough to invest the time to try and seek out every single one (or even very many) by bike & mass transit. I go to the same ones over and over again because I like 'em and they're relatively easily accessible to me. But thanks for the reminders. I also don't care too much for Hönig; the beers are just not exciting. Like the Roßdorfer ones. (Ha!) I don't remember the Rauchbier at all though. In the context of Podge's request, I assume he's putting together a bus tour of places near Bamberg, and wants to maximise beer time and minimise travel time. And the "wow" factor of the Kreuzberg area would be a great attraction--there is no other place like it on earth. Should we start up a business to drive tourists around to all the remote country breweries? |
