Brauerei Question... |

I hope that because this thread is a couple days old people haven’t lost interest in it. I got severely jammed up at work for the past few days and just haven’t had time to participate. This topic of which brewery actually brews which beer is very important to my trip planning. I really don’t want to go out of my way to visit a place that offers 5 different styles of beer but really only brews one. I agree with Uncle Jimbo here in that I personally have no problem with a brewery having their beers brewed elsewhere provided they’re involved somehow in the process; their recipe, their wort, something that makes the beer unique to them. I’m making it a point to view as many brewery websites as I can to see how much information is provided re: the specific beers offered. If a website goes out of its way to describe the brewing process and ingredients of the specific styles then I’m inclined to believe that these aren’t just generic beers being re-labeled. Or am I being naïve again? One other thing I wanted to mention is that although I’ve identified myself as a wheat beer enthusiast (it’s true it’s my favorite style) I’m not exclusively a wheat beer drinker. I do seek out and enjoy other styles; what I don’t like/drink are crisp, hoppy styles. I’m not a Pilsner or IPA guy. I more prefer yeasty, malty ales. |
