Breweries in the west of franconia

Hi Don, Reindler, Jochsberg: Generally very hoppy beers, well produced. The food is excellent. It's a brewery for lovers of a highly hoppy style, similar to the beers of Spalt or Barthelmesaurach and not suitable for malt devotees :-). There are some small breweries in the area though, brewing superb malty beers, e.g. Reuter of Unternbibert, Dorn of Vestenberg or Dorn of Ammerndorf. How did you like the dark beer of Wolf, Rüdenhausen? Absolutely great stuff, isn't it? I don't have the best opinion of Landwehrbräu though, as it is a bigger brewery already. The beers are drinkable but lack of character. But that's only my opinion ;-) j.
