Any Annafest reports?

>Was it really thirty-EIGHT degrees? Thought the highest it got last week was about 32. But humid, so...< Well, I recall that the temperature monitor on the pharmacy next to the GetrankeMarkt said 35. And that was in the evening. And I was talking to a local Forchheim family at the St. G Winterbrau keller and they mentioned 38. Or maybe it was lost in translation. Anyway it was too hot for me. It can get brutal out there in the summer, I expect. >Schnitts are not too difficult to get, if you go ask the guys actually doing the pouring. Getting a Schnitt by table service though, that's pretty tough. If you'd met up with Jan & I on Friday, you'd have even gotten couple of *free* Schnitts (or just me on other days). Schnitt price seems to hover around 4 €.< Schnitt. I must try that in future. But I thought the general public wasn't supposed to go near the serving areas? So as to keep the gangway free and do all transactions via a waiter who "works" a certain patch of tables and who has a purse? >Agreed on the Pfand confusion< Trouble was, in the evening, a few places took my pfand and didn't give me a token... >So not too bad for me. It is a kind of odd experience though.< As one German guy said to me: "It's not a beer fest, more of a journey". I'd have probably enjoyed it more when I was 21. Mike
