It's 2.8 km from Eggolsheim Bahnhof (actually located in Neuses to the west of Eggolsheim) to Schlammersdorf. It's about 1.7 km from the Bahnhof to Eggolsheim...in the opposite direction. So to walk between THESE two would not be so ideal IMO, as you would back-track both ways. Meals at both Schlammersdorf and Eggolsheim are pretty basic stuff. Good, and not un-filling, but not gourmet. I'd recommend a walk to Schlammersdorf in combination with Hallerndorf, which is another 2.8 km west / sw of Schlammersdorf. And there you have two breweries and a nice Keller...if you time it right, you can bus back to Forchheim. Or if you time it right (weekdays), you could walk to Schlammersdorf, enjoy a Landbier there, then take the bus to Hallerndorf, and on to Stiebarlimbach/Kreuzberg. (If the latter, I'd skip the stop in Hallerndorf!) http://www.vgn.de/efa9/efa97/roccas/TTB/000001b7e.pdf is the Bus 265 schedule for Summer 2008; note that V01 at the top of a column denotes a school-days-only schedule, whereas V14 denotes non-school-weekdays-only. (Bayern has lots of school holidays, see!)
