After 4 trips with my wife to Bavaria (Franconia in particular) I am bring a group of 34 beer lovers from my bar whom I've convinced they must visit Franconia and Bamberg before they die! After a overnight stop in Zoigl beer country we will spend two nights at Fassala. Through my Mahrs ( Shelton Bros Importer) rep I have been trying to arrange a tour to Mahrs Brau. We have had no luck getting a reponse from Stephan Michel. Any other easier ways? He gave a a great personal tour in 2005. We are also taking a pub crawl through the countryside of Franconia on monday April 7th. Due to many places being closed on Monday, the route I have choosen is as follows: 1. Geisfeld: Griess and Krug 2. Melkendorf: Winkler 3. Schammelsdorf: Knoblach 4. Drosenfeld: Goller 5. Merkendorf; Hummel and Wagner That should make for a full night. And yes I have notified these breweries we would be coming. Are their any out of these that are "Must See". They all seemed fairly decent I would just like to tell my group "Don't Miss XXX and be sure to try the XXX". Oh and yes we are traveling by motorcoach. Anything else we should know? I have been to many Franconia breweries but these will be all new stops for me. Thanks for the imput and a big hello to Fred our Annafest 2003 Drinking Buddy. |
