The Future of good German bier in the US

Thanks for your thoughtful reply Fred, and I agree with you about the factors that keep most German weissbocks and dopplebocks from becoming cult beers over here. Do you remember when Huber briefly made Andechs beers here a few years back? Did they brew a dopplebock? I would put the Andechs dopple close to the top of my list of need-to-be-imported Franconian/Bavarian beers as well, is it available over here ocasionally? Prost!
