 I love the Kalt Loch beer and restaurant. I wish I live in Miltonburg instead of Panama City Beach, Fl. The best beer at the Kalt Loch is the dark Christmas beer. I first went to the Kalt Loch in 1979 when I was in the Army, stationed in Frankfurt. I found out pretty fast that I could not drink the double dunkel bach beer like I could American beer. I was really sad to hear of the death of the owner, Franz. He was such a nice man. Always telling a joke and laughing. I miss the good times we had there. I was able to visit the Kalt Loch in Jul 02, had a few beers and talked with Fanz's son.

 Nice old brewery tap in a narrow picturesque street; the Faust (former Löwenbräu) is situated next door. The Kalt-Loch serves nearly daily a well balanced, smooth Doppelbock on draught, which seems to be not so "heavy" as the "-ator"-examples from south of Bavaria. Be careful ! The Export (from the bottle) seems to contain some traces of smoked malt, a very "franconian" aftertaste ! Such individual brews are hard to find in this part of Germany, don't miss them !

 Dear Sir: This not vote ( although I have tasted KLB and is among the best I have had) but a desperate plee to help me order beer from Kalt-Loch Brewery and have it shipped to the USA. This is the town where my ancestors imagrated from 247 years ago. I have visted this town several times and would like to drink this great beer in Potomac MD! The kalt-Loch breery does not appear to have it's own web site so I would deeply appreciate any help I could receive from the beer guide. Thanks Again Joel Miltenberger

 Joel, I doubt if they will be able to send you any beer. I've tried to buy beer from another small brewery in Aschaffenburg but it was not possible for them to send it here to the USA. Try contacting them at: Kalt Loch Brau Hauptstrasse 201 Miltenberg, Germany 63897 011-49-9371-2283 If you really miss the beer, you can always move there.

 Brewery has closed March 2010. Some old stock still available at the brewery tap (if you're really interested, I have the feeling it has some acidity problems), if you come across fresh Kalt-Loch beers it probably comes from Eder in Grossostheim.
