After reading several articles about how the beer of Pottenstein has lost its genuine character over the last years, you'll be surprised that the local beers are among the most tasty black beers produced anywhere. Hufeisen is on the dry side.

Wonderful aromatic unfiltrated dark beer with hints of chestnut and coffee. A fun drink - I could stay with it for the whole evening.

Stopped by here in late November 2009 on a Saturday afternoon at 17:00 and it was shut (as was its neighbor). Very disappointed. The whole town felt dead. It looks like the summer is the time to visit.
