This Braurei is by far the best in Germany. The brewery has always two beers to choose from. A monthly special and the always great Störchen.

Pleasant brewpub in an otherwise drab city. I liked the biergarten out front and the keller-like food servery where you buy your meals and then go sit where you like in the bar. The Scotty beer was quite pleasant, I had visions of it tasting like other whisky malt beers I've had (and not liked) but was nicely surprised. Probably the only reason I would go back to Erlangen.

Steinbach offers two beers at any given time: The regular blond, yeasty, flabby, utterly uninteresting lager, and a rotating seasonal. The seasonals can be good indeed, or at worst, only worth bothering to try. After living in Erlangen for two years, I've been in maybe a half dozen times? It is a nice *place* though, and we always like watching the storks. testdontbother.com

I am visiting Erlangen on business and visited Steinbach-Bräu to try their signature Storchenbier. I was quite pleased. A wonderful fresh, unfiltered helles with a balanced flavor profile. Malt/hops/yeast are all present. A very clean, fresh flavor. And you can't beat the atmosphere. Typical biergarten with long picnic-style tables under the trees. I highly recommend it.
