Der Hopfen - Pellets vs Whole/Leaf/Natur vs Fresh/Wet

Again though, pelletised hops are dried first. The more you process hops, the more the (potential) effect on their aroma / flavour characteristics. Pelletising is a further, violent process acted upon dried whole hops.

It's not as if you have either dried/kined  or pellets; you have dried or dried AND pelletised.

And as I said, it's a religious argument! Indeed it would be very difficult to create a batch of beer with whole hops and another with pellets for comparison's sake. Even if you could control the brewing process to 100% certainty, you'd still be dealing with two different batches of hops, unless you could go to where they're made into pellets and get some from before and after pelletisation.

That would be an experiment in whose results I would put great stock.

FWIW, there are real professional brewers who prefer whole hops to pellets; it's not just oddball me over in a corner all by myself.
