OT: Kölsch

FWIW, my comparisons of bottled Kölsch have been disappointing, though not as bad as the previous explorations into the bland, bland, bland world of Augustiner Edelstoff vs. The Other Exportbier(s) were. Again, the only one I've found to have substantial character of any kind, really, is the Heller. And it's not "hopfenbetont", but malzbetont! Still have a couple more for the next coming days. I've said it before and will say it again: Köln really needs a Kölschhaus with various brewers' beers available side-by-side, gravity pour and everything. Same goes for Düsseldorf and Altbier. In the case of Kölsch, though, I reckon the danger is people would discover just how samey they all are!
