Bamberger Bombs

Just saw on the Frankenschau daily TV show that two dud bombs from WWII have been found during construction works at the former airfield(?) at the US Army base that is being given back to the city when the Army leaves. The bombs will be excavated and defused on Sunday, requiring evacuation of a large area and closure of the A70 Autobahn. I thought Bamberg was not a target for bombing in WWII, so am surprised to hear of duds in the ground in the area.
