Bamberg here we come!

Bamberg-Nürnberg approx 45min by train, Nürnberg-München another 1,5 hr (ICE express train). Don't waste your time on Munich (my biased view) or Nürnberg (unless you know where to go, or if there is a festival on). Bamberg and the Bamberg area will take up your time, and you could regret you'll have only 8 days to spend in Bamberg (but I'm a Bmaberg geek). You can't really go wrong with hotels in Franconia, but the best is of course to find a hotel attached to a brewery - which is quite common in this part of the world.
