Base Camps

I'd recommend grafenberg, lovely small town with the excellent lindenbrau (gravity vollbier served) and the great views from the friedenfels brewery Keller. I'm not that keen on weisenohe but Hoffman and thuisbrunn are a leisurely stroll away. Easy to get a train to nurnberg and close to forchheim/ebermannstadt as the crow flies and buses to go to forchheim stopping in leutenbach (brauerei Drummer) and dietzhof (brauerei Alt). Not sure how regular.
