Of course you're right about there being a lot of variety among Kellerbier(s) in Franconia. Extending that to Pils though...there just simply aren't as many Pilsners here as elsewhere in the country, right? Don't think I've had it but once at the Brauerei, and all I remember of that visit, years ago, was the service bell button and the older chap (the only guy in the room) who told me to ring it to get a beer. And the old photos. My point is, other than that, I've only had it bayerisch Anstich, gravity-pour auf dem Keller. Is there really a range, or just the one beer? Ah, I see there is bottled Lager and Pils, as well as Kellerbier listed at r8beer. And the ratings there...so, so high! Agree with the comments about good mouth feel. Have you also had it at the Keller? I shall have to revisit the Gaststätte. (Time for a bit of introduction, maybe? You seem to have seen and drunk quite a bit of Franconia.)
