Ganstaller Zoiglstube

I don't know the reasons for Andreas Gänstaller to brand the pub of his wife as "Zoiglstube" and some of his beers as "Zoigl" beers. Maybe he wants to emphasize: - the brewer = pub owner = waiter, personal contact to the brewer - the beer is few filtered - You get regional snacks - it's a family business (in so far you find the same thing p.e. in other franconian brewpubs, p.e. the brewpub of Stefan Zehendner in Mönchsambach). - short opening times The name "Zoiglstube" was launched from Andy Gänstaller in Trabelsdorf where he has used the brewery rooms as a pub aside the official brewpub of his lessor. This Zoiglstube has opened only one day the week. The "Zoiglstube" in Strassgiech is more a restaurant, opened 3 days. In some cases the reason to use the name Zoigl is to gain from the high valued name. "Zoigl" is not a protected name, no trademark. Everyone can use it. In this sense the name "Zoigl" describes a beer style near Kellerbier. Examples: "Moosbacher Zoigl" from the Private Landbrauerei Scheuerer in Moosbach.
