The definition of "pour," from the Cambridge Dictionaries Online (so UK English), is "to make a liquid flow from or into a container: I poured the milk into a jug." Last time I looked (yesterday evening), beer was still a liquid, a cask or keg was a container, and it was flowing into glasses. So far, that meets the UK English definition of "pour." So color me confused. If you don't "pour" beer in the UK, how does it get from cask/keg/bottle into pitcher/jug/glass? |
