The name of this handcraftship is different in different parts of Germany: Kaminkehrer, Kamin: chimney, tunnel; kehren = sweep, scavenge Schlotfeger, Schlot: chimney, tunnel Schornsteinfeger, Schornstein: chimney, smoke stack other regional names are: Essenkehrer Rauchfangkehrer A "Essen" is a funnel above a fireplace and the same as a "Rauchfang". The official name for this handcraft is "Schornsteinfeger" of "Schornsteinfegerin" (female). |
