Thanks for the advice, Nick and Mark. I've got a few swing tops (legacy of a present of lovely Leipheim Hirschbrau!) and a few PETs but millions of empty wine bottles and more to come (wonder why, as I don't drink a lot of wine?). I'm going to start slowly with a beer kit (? Woodforde because I like the Wherry), as this is first excursion for donkey's years before moving onto Franken or Zoigl brewing! I assume that the lager kits (such as Cooper's) use a bottom fermenting yeast? Does this mean that it has to be lagered for a long period, unlike ale? What is the US-equivalent to 'on'? |
