Wheat Beers - Why Bother? |

I'm a little confused as to why so many posters here seem averse to drinking Franconian wheat beers. Before beginning I want to acknowledge that I know I’m WAY out of my league here. You guys are experts & connoisseurs. I’m just some guy that likes beer. Do you guys find fault with Franconian wheat beers because in many (most?) cases they’re contract brewed? Even so, aren’t the contract breweries using the contracting brewery’s recipe (or am I wrong about that)? Does that somehow make the beer unauthentic and for that reason unappealing? Is it a case of; since someone else is doing the brewing you feel that they’re less inclined to create a quality product; like if I paint my house I’m going to do a much better job than if I pay someone else to do it? |
