Any Annafest reports?

Nice impressions! Was it really thirty-EIGHT degrees? Thought the highest it got last week was about 32. But humid, so... Schnitts are not too difficult to get, if you go ask the guys actually doing the pouring. Getting a Schnitt by table service though, that's pretty tough. If you'd met up with Jan & I on Friday, you'd have even gotten couple of *free* Schnitts (or just me on other days). Schnitt price seems to hover around 4 €. Some Keller(s) do offer discounts before 16.00 or 17.00, most notably at Blümlein (Eichhorn) & Hoffmann (Krug). The regular price of 6,00 or 6,50 € per liter of Festbier--that's cheaper than other Fests of similar size, and the diversity in Festbier is probably tough to beat. Agreed on the Pfand confusion, as well as on the variation in the beer quality. I ended up liking Blümlein's much better than in previous years, and despite my early disgust with it, Heb's ended up being my second favorite behind Löwenbräu. (I guess.) I don't follow you on the Schwarze Anna. My one Neder Mass (no Schnitt there!) on Monday...I dumped it out after a few sips, because it tasted like they'd extinguished 50 church candles out in it. Otherwise, I didn't get there "alla Dooch" this year; just Mo, Tu, We, & Fr. So not too bad for me. It is a kind of odd experience though. I'm "glad" I'm not the only one to have had trouble with Heb's Hell. Was great to meet up with Jan.
