I wouldn't count on much of a CO2 blanket effect. In the limited headspace of a keg there is far more likely a homogenous mix of gas. Refrigeration may have some countereffect, but OTOH at lower temperatures the oxygen will dissolve at a substantial higher rate in the liquid. Even if the air pressure system is disconnected overnight, the damage already has been done: there is oxygen in the container (keg). |
