| Yes, running a real, proper pub is out of the question. What I dream of is a place that's small and cheap enough that we don't have to operate it at anything close to normal, full-time hours, and especially not with employees! Rather, only open in the afternoon to sell a few Seidla, enough to cover costs. Like what they call a "tasting room" vs. a "brewpub" in the US these days. And it would be a place that would get the homebrewing out of our little kitchen. In the centre of Erlangen, there's enough foot trade to lead me to imagine that I could sell a few Seidla over the course of an afternoon. B says that if we were to invest, say, 200k€ in a location like that Nürnberger one, we'd want to get at least 6% return on investment per year, or 1000€ profit per month. If I sold my beer cheap to attract custom, say, 5€ a litre, how many litres would I need to sell per month to earn 1000€ after expenses? |
