| I saw in the local weekend paper today that the brewery worker's union expects to execute warning strikes soon, after salary negotiations broke down on Friday. The union wants 6%, but the Bayerischer Brauerbund only offered 1.7%, which was an increase from the previously offered 1.2%. The union, which represents 10,000 workers (!), sees this not only as provocative, but also insolent. Material prices have fallen, while beer prices have risen, so the workers should get a better share of the improved financial situation, according to the union. http://www.nn-online.de/artikel.asp?art=968136&kat=27&man=12 |
