| All this chat about dogs in pubs reminded me, about 1974 I stood at a bar (as one did) next to an elderly slightly built chap.There was a strong wiff about him,I moved along a bit,and then noticed a small long haired terrier at his feet.I remarked,politely I thought that the dog would benifit from a bath.He flew into a rage.as did the dog.He then proceeded to crack me one on the head! due to my youth and great bulk,and his lack of youth and bulk,it bounced off.The landlord barred us both for a week.(it was my local!) the moral of the tale,dont tell the old fella his dog stinks. |
