Thank you for the concern! The hotel (The Gardens) is two doors down from Wetherspoons, and the next block on the other side has the Piccadilly Tavern. So I'll be set for a night cap and breakies at Spoons, surely cheaper than the £8.50 that the hotel wants. 

I shall eschew "craft" beer wherever possible, but I've been told I "must" check out the tank Pilsner Urquell at the new Albert's Schloss (£4.80 / pint). It'll be worth a half to see if it's similar to tankovna in Prague.
