| Not as if there's enough of any variety in the average Altbier to really pick one out anyway! Altbier seems to me to be just finely hopped, just enough to balance out a nice dry maltiness. And the classic German hops are pretty subtle to begin with, interesting to compare them at the hop trader's stand at the Nürnberger Brau-Beviale in November...erm...not this year though, as the B-V takes a break from Nürnberg every 3(?) years, dammit. |
