Biking v. Walking |

At my absolute sportiest, and on a bike that's in good condition, I do 25 - 28 kph on fairly level ground, or 20 kph when "cruising" So, an average between 8 and 20 kph would be 14 kph, which is probably 3 times as fast as walking. Which is about what I usually figure when I plan trips: biking gets us around about 3 times faster than walking. Geisfeld to Strullendorf takes 20 minutes or so, going slowly. It's about 5 minutes from Geisfeld to Roßdorf, downhill. Plus, bikes can normally (or at least often) be taken on buses (and of course trains) with an extra half-price ticket. |
