Since I sent the Nürnberger tax/toll authorities the required notice of my intent to produce ~20 litres of ~9 Plato beer in my home on today's date, I suppose I better get started! Hate to not brew beer that I've promised the authorities. Start by boiling the mash water for an hour (in lieu of doing proper water adjustments): < http://i49.tinypic.com/nn6647.jpg > Dividing the heating-up-of-the-water among three burners drastically reduces the time involved, FWIW. The biggest pot is the non-induction 10-gal (US) from my former Oregon life, the one on the cooker/stove/range/Kochstelle is 36 litre. The former is my boil kettle when brewing outside on the gas burner, but today it will serve as the fermenter. |
