It's excellent, but not worth the hype. Definitely not worth 10 €/$/£ or whatever a bottle. I would say it's more deserving the hype it gets than the hype that Mahr's gets (or got), IMO, which was once named the World's Greatest Beer or whatever, when really it's just an average-to-good Franconian Lagerbier. "Very well refined" comes to mind when I think of the Westvleteren beers. I'd take a pint of Phoenix Spotland (?) Gold (with or without sparkling!) over a bottle of W12 right now.
