What exactly does "Zwickel" mean?

Maybe someone can help me with this. From what I understood, "Zwickel" meant that the beer was being served direcly from either the fermentation or from the lagering vessel. This would mean that any beer in a keg or in a barrel or in a bottle could not be truly "Zwickel". What is meant by "Zwickel bier" in Franconia? Thanks
