Homebrewer Looking for Yeast! |

Hello, I am making my bi-annual trek to Bavaria with my two cousins starting on Sept 1st. I am an avid all-grain homebrewer who's favorite beer is Hefeweizen. The problem is that I can't make hefeweizen as good as the German examples I have had. We are flying to Frankfurt, driving to Oberailsfeld (via Bamberg), then Regensburg and Nurnberg, then back home. I was wondering if anybody might know any way for me to get some yeast while I am visiting the country? Or, if any homebrewers know which brand of hefeweizens might use the fermentation yeast for bottle conditioning? I could buy some bottles and harvest the yeast from the beer. So far, I only know of Scheider Weisse using their top fermenting strain for bottle conditioning. Thanks for any input! |
