Now that we've booked another 6-7 weeks spell in Eschawo, with probably 2 -3 weeks in Franken in Spring, I thought that I should seriously attempt to improve my German language (speaking) skills. There is absolutely no chance of finding a class in this area (probably have to travel 80 kms to Galway for nearest) and all my German friends are a bit reluctant to help (they want to speak to improve their English, which I guess is fair because they must cope with living here). So, I thought that I might try one of the online methods. I looked at Rosetta Stone but it looks a bit simplistic (I think that I have reasonable basics - check Nick?), also Babbel, which maybe looks a bit more flexible. So, does anyone have any experience of these methods? I don't think that the Bamberg immersion method is practical at this stage. |
