Well-balanced

Well-balanced between what and what though? I would say the best Kellerbier(s) are well balanced between malt and hop, but others would say these are very hoppy or even too hoppy. I'm curious: are you a cask ale drinker? If so, what sorts do you like best? Me, I like a good classic English bitter if it's in good nick, but the growth of the new breed of pale, low-gravity, überhoppy ales is what got me started homebrewing again and is what inspires us to take holidays in places like Yorkshire. (I should say their unavailability here on the continent is what got me started homebrewing again.)
