| I wouldn't say we're having a terrible summer down here. We had some really nice stretches of weather a couple of times, but yes, right now it's a wet, cool stretch. OTOH the winter was exceptionally dry after a mid-December pile of snow. And the spring was very dry. The rain is desperately needed here, I bet. Uncle Jimbo had a very positive, healthy outlook about it yesterday though (a very fine day, actually!): he's here for a while this trip, so if the weather varies, it varies. The missus and I are very probably flying to Manchester in a month to spend some time in Sheffield (walk her around the pubs in the hills...just like Bamberg & Rome, Sheff's built on seven hills) and at the coast between Scarborough and Whitby. It never rains up there in August, I bet. |
