Frankfurt morning departure – what to do? |

| I’m off to Bamberg on Tuesday 5/3 and flying back on Monday 5/9. It’s not a long stay so I want to maximize my time in Bamberg My flight from Frankfurt back to the US is at 11am. Ideally, I would love to stay the night in Bamberg and train to the airport in the morning vs. a night in Frankfurt. There is a train that runs Bamberg Mo, 09.05.11 dep 04:51 Würzburg Hbf Mo, 09.05.11 arr 06:17 Würzburg Hbf Mo, 09.05.11 dep 06:26 Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf Mo, 09.05.11 arr 07:55 That would work but having dealt with a Eurostar delay rushing back from Belgium to London, I’m a little concerned about long train rides on the day of departure. Not knowing the Bamberg train situation, is this a dependable route? I posted this on BeerAdvocate a few months ago and didn’t get a suggestions that won me over. The way I see it, I have 4 options. 1.Stay the full day in Bamberg and train out at 4am 2.Go to Frankfurt early the day prior and enjoy Frankfurt and maybe check out the apple wine scene. It would be a Sunday so I’m not sure if that would be a problem. 3.Go to Frankfurt really late at night after spending the day in Bamberg 4.Find someplace closer to Frankfurt with easy access to a train station with a good beer scene. Suggestions? Sorry for the length of the post and thanks for this great resource.
