Vacation apartment (Ferienwohnung) in Bamberg

It still amazes me how reasonably priced these FeWos are in Bamberg--particularly for the space, amenities and freedom you get. Before I found out about them I was always frustrated by Bamberg's hotels which are small and uncomfortable for the price. And I've never been comfortable with how closely a hotel in Germany monitors your comings-and-goings. I now think Bamberg is one of the best tourist cities around thanks to the FeWos. Are they common in other German cities as well?
