New Landbierparadies in Nürnberg |

| I read in the paper earlier in the week that a new location is open (special celebratory prices til next Weds: 2,20€ / Seidla!) in northeast Nürnberg, specifically at Leipziger Straße 32, which is a few minutes' walk from the Nordostbahnhof S-Bahn & U-Bahn stop. So, hop on the U2, hop off at Nordostbahnhof, and you can be drinking fränkisches Bier mit/unter (Präposition, Gerhard/Jürgen?) bayerischem Anstich within minutes of landing at NUE. In true Germanic style, their website offers no information about this, though it does explain that the Rothenburger Str. and Galvinian Str. locations closed in 2010 and 2011, respectively. Have to wonder why. Photos and story here, explaining that the prior tavern closed in 2014, and a lengthy, expensive renovation ensued. The owners, a city housing organisation, invested a million €, whereas Landbierparadies invested a low six-figure sum. The 1920's building was in worse shape than expected. Can't guarantee that I'll have a personal report THIS WEEKEND yet, since it's well over an hour from here by bus & train, despite being only 17 km away. |
