| Thought I'd better start a new string for this one but relating to Nick's comment about Faessla. During recent visit to Llandudno, we had a visit from J's sister and cousin - both dog owners. I was charged with finding a pub that allowed dogs inside, as it was too cold (not far from zero) to eat outside. The tourist office were very helpful and gave me a list of the pubs that allowed dogs inside - actually, only a couple from many. So we chose one and it was quite reasonable, cask beer of good quality, goodish veg food and pleasant service (well, it wasn't very busy). The dogs were quite well behaved.
Unfortunately, during the visit, I saw a couple the things that put people off animals in pubs, specially where food is concerned. The worst was one dog owner giving the remainder of his meal on his plate to his dog to finish off (I will not be eating there again). But also the constant handling of the dog and then plates and glasses without hand washing. Maybe I'm a bit finicky but, if we demand hygene from pub staff, surely it is incumbent of dog owners to be the same?
Sorry to sound negative as I know that many dog owners are very fastidious (Inc FF friends!).
