| Heh. My step-mom used to make a big deal of packing a gigantor-jar of generic aspirin to take to Germany, simply because of the way the whole OTC-medicine thing works there. BTW, it's pretty much the same situation across much of the continent, hardly unique to Germany: you gotta go to an Apotheke/apoteek/pharmacie/etc to get even standard-issue OTC meds, and they sell them in blister-packed modest quantities. I don't gobble down enough OTC meds for it to matter much; I can't even take aspirin, ibuprofen, or the similar NSAID meds, having developed an allergic reaction to them a few years ago. |
