Yes, the bottle of pills (of medicine anyway) is simply not a concept here. They just don't treat medicine as a bulk product, AFAICT. If one is taking pain medication so regularly, then one should go to the doctor and get sent to a spa for treatment...paid for by insurance of course. We do the same thing: buy a bottle of Ibuprofin whilst visiting England. (And then we never end up using even a fraction of it before it "expires".) Anyone care to guess how often the "average German" goes to the doctor? I've read about this in the paper and seen it on tv. It's a shocking statistic. Hint: not less often than their European neighbors.
