Liebesbier in Bayreuth

What's this -- a Yankee-style brewpub/steakhouse with *21* taps in *Bayreuth*? Seems Maisel (Bayreuth) have started the place up at their Maisel & Friends microbrewery(?), to celebrate some of the best beers from around the world that they know of. It's not a completely unimpressive list, IMHO, that you can see from the ratebeer reviews.

The three 75 cl bottles of Chocobock, India Ale, and Bavaria Ale (IIRC...?) that first appeared from Maisel & Friends a couple of years ago are pretty execrable. But then the 5.2% Pale Ale in 33 cl bottles that appeared last year is a very fine example of a hoppy, clean, pale pale ale. And being priced reasonably for a quality beer of this sort (i.e. so-called "craft") at 1€ a bottle means that I've been drinking a fair amount of it at home (mixed with Störtebeker alc-free beer to bring it down to 3.9% session strength, of course). So I've become a bit of a fan of theirs.

Never been to Bayreuth, this may be a reason to prompt a visit. Then again, it is a long way...I can just enjoy a fine burger here at home with 7 YO Westvleteren from the Bierothek (17€!) for a lot less expense and travel time.
