OT: Yorkshire

I came, I saw, I drank. I did not put on weight, rather, I lost 1.5 pounds in five days of walking and drinking. Splendid, splendid railway station pubs along the line between Manchester & Leeds. Lots of pale, low-alcohol hoppy ale. Pork pies. Inedible hotel breakfast (otherwise splendid new hotel in Manc) led me to buy sandwiches to eat on the train for breakfast. (Which actually worked out quite well--good walking/hiking food, less time spent in hotel, healthier.) I did run into a pub in Liverpool that was doing a Franconia Fest, with a stout brewed in Stegaurach, of all things! I didn't try it though. I'll have to compile photos and a report and post it somewhere.
